Supported equipment

Solar Split reads your inverter, battery and meters. It never controls them.

"Works today" means the hub has a driver, verified against vendor documentation and recorded data. No hub has run on a customer's system yet, and nothing counts as working until it has.

Meters and what they measure

Dwelling meter

A sub-meter on one home's circuits, for example a Shelly Pro EM. You need one on at least one dwelling.

Site meter or inverter gateway

Reads total site consumption, or grid import and export, and solar production.

The other dwelling

No meter needed. Its use is the site total minus the metered dwelling.

Meters are not included in the kit, and your electrician installs the meter: Solar Split does not. Readings are for information only; the retailer's meter and bill stay the authority.

The meter must be one of the supported models listed on the Equipment page; unsupported meters cannot be read by the hub.

Do I have what I need?

  • A meter measuring at least one dwelling's own use, or I am ready to add one, and it is one of the supported models above.
  • A way to read total site consumption or grid import and export, and solar production: an inverter or gateway with consumption clamps, or a whole-site meter.
  • My brands show "Works today" below, or I have told Solar Split what I have.

If you cannot tick all three, the split cannot be calculated yet.

    Inverters that follow the open SunSpec standard over your network. A brand is only named here once we have checked it. Not yet run on a customer's system.
